Deputy Prime Minister Chernyshenko ruled out the introduction of Fan ID for hockey matches

Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko said that the authorities do not plan to give up the fan ID (Fan ID) for access to football matches. At the same time, he ruled out the use of this mechanism at hockey matches due to the differences in the culture of attending them.
Fan ID (Fan ID) is a document required when attending sporting events in Russia. On the territory of the Russian Federation, it was first used before the Olympics in Sochi. You can get a Fan ID either through the “Gosuslugi” or at the MFC.
“In hockey, they were not introduced, because there is a completely different culture of attending matches and the absence of historical facts of hooligan behavior. There, football was introduced solely because of the safety of our fans. And we see that the statistics show good results, the almost complete absence of incidents,” Mr. Chernyshenko told reporters (quoted from “Interfax”).
The Fan ID Act went into effect on July 1, 2022. For the first time, the mechanism was used during the Sochi Olympics in order to ensure security. A visit with a fan ID was mandatory only at RPL games in Yekaterinburg, Sochi, Rostov-on-Don, Samara and Nizhny Novgorod.
However, from December 1, 2022, the law was extended to all Premier League matches. Against the background of the introduction of the system, starting from the spring part of the RPL tournament, the number of spectators in the stands decreased.
