Secretary of State – Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Pyotr Kucherenko died yesterday, May 20. He was returning from a business trip to Cuba. This was reported by the press service of the department in its Telegram channel.
Pyotr Kucherenko felt unwell on the plane on which the Russian delegation was returning from Cuba. The plane landed in Mineralnye Vody to provide medical assistance to Mr. Kucherenko, but it was not possible to save him. The press service did not specify the cause of death.
Petr Kucherenko was 46 years old. He is the husband of the singer and public figure Diana Gurtskaya. Mr. Kucherenko received the post of Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia in 2021.
