Deputy Mayor Liksutov: ventilation in the Moscow metro is switched to winter mode

The preparations for the cold season have been completed in the Moscow Metro. This was reported in the Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure of Moscow. We are talking about switching a number of systems to a winter position, checking the functioning of the units necessary in the cold season.

“Every year, Moscow Transport conducts a large-scale preparation of infrastructure for the change of seasons – winter and summer, so that the temperature for passengers remains as comfortable as possible,” said Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport. – Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin instructed to pay special attention to this issue. For two months, the metro staff carried out a complete check and maintenance of the systems that will be involved in the uninterrupted maintenance of the required temperature in winter.

According to the deputy mayor, about 5,000 second doors were installed in the lobbies of the subway – they serve as an additional barrier to cold air in the cold season, and are dismantled in the summer. In addition, Liksutov noted, the air conditioners in the trains were switched to winter mode – the temperature became several degrees lower so that passengers were comfortable in warm outerwear.

In addition, before the cold season, 1.3 thousand thermal curtains located at the entrances and exits of the lobbies were washed in the Moscow metro, the heating networks and the heating of the stairs were checked.
