Deputy Gutenev proposed to limit foreign research activities in Russia

A group of State Duma deputies presented a bill that affects foreign research activities in Russia, focusing on the three largest Western companies that are actively working on the Russian market in the interests of unfriendly countries.
Deputy Vladimir Gutenev, one of the authors of the initiative, said that over the past twenty years, these research companies have divided the Russian market, providing data that may be of interest not only to business, but also to government structures.
According to RIA Novosti, among these companies – GFK, the largest marketing research institute in Germany and the fourth largest in the world. Also on the list is the French marketing and research company Ipsos, which carries out research in the field of drug supply and recommended medicines, as well as the American Nielsen, which specializes in market analysis and consumer behavior.
The bill, submitted to the State Duma, involves the introduction of restrictions on foreign companies engaged in research in Russia. Companies that want to collect and process data on prices for consumer goods, on the composition of the consumer basket, on the dynamics of spending on various goods, on public health, diagnoses and recommended medicines, will need to register in the Russian Federation. Moreover, at least 80% of the authorized capital of such companies must be owned by Russian legal entities or individuals.
