With a proposal to create a virtual panic button in the application and on the Gosuslugi website, the first deputy chairman of the State Duma control committee, Dmitry Gusev, turned to the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Maksut Shadayev.

“Under the conditions of a special military operation, provocative and terrorist actions on the territory of Russia by Ukraine continue. Many people may need immediate assistance,” the parliamentarian said in a letter he sent to the digital authority on Friday.

Gusev noted that today more than 94 million people use the Gosuslugi website and mobile application. Meanwhile, you cannot call emergency services through the portal.

“Our citizens must have a multi-channel opportunity to promptly and promptly request help, report critical situations and potential threats. The information received should go directly to the relevant authorities,” the deputy emphasized.

Now you can call security forces, doctors and firefighters through the 112 service.

This mechanism is not enough, the deputy is sure. Gusev suggested that the alarm button in the application will be actively used not only by the victims themselves, but also by random witnesses to incidents.

“At State Services you can get almost any document, make an appointment with a doctor, enroll in a university and even vote in elections. But you cannot signal and call for help in case of an emergency. It is not right. Many concerned citizens are ready to help and report critical situations,” said Spravedross.
