Russian President Vladimir Putin dismissed Igor Morgulov from the post of Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, appointing him the country’s new ambassador to China, should from documents published on the official portal of legal information.
“Release Morgulov Igor Vladimirovich from the post of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in connection with the transfer to another job,” the presidential decree says. The head of state also released Andrei Denisov from the duties of the Russian ambassador to China.
Morgulov has been working in the system of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1991. In 2005-2006. In 2006-2009, he served as chief adviser to the First Asian Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, in 2006-2009. – Counsellor-envoy of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the People’s Republic of China. Since 2011 – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, oversees relations with Asian countries.
Denisov returns to Russia after nine years of service as ambassador to the PRC. Until 2004, Denisov served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. Earlier, a message appeared on the website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry about a meeting between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and a departing Russian diplomat.
