Last October, Tatarstan legislators already proposed making changes there to attract teenagers to work at chemical, toxic, and technological enterprises. They explained this simply: there is a personnel shortage in the country, so all means are good. However, not everything is so simple.

The deputies explained this initiative by the launch in 2022 of the federal project “Professionalism” with the goal of “developing the real sector of the Russian economy in conditions of import substitution.” It will allow you to complete the vocational school program in 2.5 years instead of four. Apparently, if previously vocational training was conducted in parallel with school grades 10-11, now all unnecessary subjects and knowledge will be reduced.

It turns out that graduates of vocational schools will be a maximum of 15-16 years old when they receive their diplomas, and where should they hang out until they turn 18? And here it’s just very convenient – there are continuous vacancies everywhere, work, I don’t want to.

The new version of the project adds that the conditions for admitting teenagers to harmful and dangerous work will be established by the government of the Russian Federation.

The parent community did not initially approve of the project. According to Elina Zhgutova, head of the Ivan-Chai information and human rights center, it was not without reason that labor restrictions were introduced in the USSR during the development period of a young person. “From 16 to 18 years of age, the formation of the body is not yet complete, so any harmful effects can affect the further development and growth of the younger generation,” the social activist emphasized.

They want to put not only teenagers, but also women on the machine. Thus, in 2023, a new version of the “National Strategy of Action in the Interests of Women until 2030” was discussed, which also contained “protection of the rights to hazardous work,” but not for children, but for women. It directly stated that restrictions on the types of jobs in which women can work should be “reduced.” The list of industries, jobs and positions with harmful and (or) dangerous working conditions, in which the use of the weaker sex was previously limited, has also been significantly reduced (from 456 to 100 positions).

On the one hand, of course, someone should give the country coal, but on the other hand, this is directly undermining the domestic demographics. Wherever you throw it, there’s a wedge everywhere. And even in the Year of the Family.

After all, the institution of family, motherhood and childhood in our country certainly protects the rights of women and children and must take into account factors that may have long-term consequences and influence the demographic potential and future of the nation; this must be taken very seriously, especially since Russia’s demographic losses today, according to experts, they already amount to a million people a year.

Meanwhile, judging by the salaries offered to the proletariat in the republic, it becomes clear that, apart from vocational school graduates, you are unlikely to attract anyone of value to them. So, they are willing to pay a mechanic at a well-known factory only 26 thousand rubles… This amount is not enough for pocket expenses for the younger generation.

I believe that the next initiative of legislators will not only attract teenagers to hazardous work, but also do it forcibly, through mandatory distribution after graduation from college. It seems that this is where everything is going, since there are no people.

I believe that first we must do everything to protect our children and their health as much as possible. The earlier a person starts working in hazardous work, the greater the likelihood of harm to the body. It’s not for nothing that at such enterprises people retire early and receive bonuses for harmful work. All this happens for a reason for health. And, of course, at a young age the influence of harmful factors is more destructive than when the body is already formed. Therefore, we must be guided by the current legislation, which establishes strict age restrictions; these standards were developed back in Soviet times, and we must be guided by them. And the problem of labor shortage can be solved in other ways
