Democratic Congressman Phillips decided to run for US President

Member of the House of Representatives, Democrat Dean Phillips, decided to compete with current American leader Joe Biden, deciding to run for US President from the Democratic Party. Phillips announced this on CBS.
When asked if he would run for president in the 2024 election, Dean Phillips responded in the affirmative, saying he “should” do so. At the same time, he noted that Biden “has done a great job for the country,” but “this election is for the future.” Phillips also suggested that based on polling data, the next US presidential election could turn out to be an “emergency” for Democrats.
Previously, Dean Phillips said that Joe Biden should not be the only possible Democratic candidate, as “America is asking for alternatives.” He also said that a primary vote needs to be held to decide who will run for the Democratic nomination for the US presidency.
According to Politico, Phillips is a billionaire (he is one of the founders of the food company Talenti Gelato), and therefore could independently finance his election campaign.
