Damage to Crimea from the water blockade increased to 2 trillion rubles – Kommersant

The total amount of damage suffered by Crimeans as a result of the water blockade will exceed 2 trillion rubles, said Chairman of the State Council of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov following a meeting of the Arbitration Court of the Republic of Crimea (RK).
At the court hearing, the State Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Council of Ministers of Crimea, organizations and departments involved in the process as third parties presented relevant petitions. The Crimean Parliament, in particular, asked to include in the case copies of the materials of the interstate complaint of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation to the European Court of Human Rights regarding the blocking of the North Crimean Canal by the Ukrainian authorities, as well as a letter from the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Kazakhstan and Sevastopol about the initiation of a criminal case under the article “Ecocide” “
“According to preliminary estimates, the total amount of damage suffered by residents of Crimea as a result of the water blockade will exceed 2 trillion rubles. Of course, hearing a case in court is a significant event for us. However, this is only the beginning of our great claims work. The damage that Ukraine and its owners have caused to our peninsula, our budget, and the people of Crimea, we will count to the last penny,”— wrote Konstantinov in his Telegram channel.
We also note that the Arbitration Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan made the process closed, satisfying the corresponding petition from the Council of Ministers of the Republic. As a representative of the regional government explained, this is due to the need to consider materials on the work of including sensitive facilities.
The next court hearing is scheduled for October 4. Earlier, the State Council of Crimea stated that the transport blockade of the peninsula applied damage amounted to more than 1.1 billion rubles, and the financial blockade amounted to 38 billion rubles.
