The Dagenergo company asked miners in Dagestan and, in particular, from the capital of the republic, Makhachkala, to turn off mining farms during the cold weather, as they are overloading the power grid.

“Dear owners of mining farms located on the territory of the Republic of Dagestan! During the cold season, we kindly ask you to think about your loved ones, neighbors, Dagestanis like you, and turn off the mining farms that overload the electrical network and provoke technological disruptions!” – says in Telegram channel “Dagenergo”.

The Dagenergo report states that the situation is particularly “difficult” in several microdistricts of Makhachkala. Analyzing the dynamics of network load, which increases sharply in short periods of time, Dagenergo decided that the load was caused precisely by mining farms.

In 2023, 13 mining farms were dismantled in Dagestan. “However, the development of mining technologies has gone so far that it is not always possible to quickly identify them,” Dagenergo added.
