Cuba reveals recruiting network for Ukraine conflict

The Cuban Interior Ministry has identified and is working to neutralize a network operating from Russia that recruits Cubans to participate in the conflict in Ukraine, reported on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the island state.
As noted, both Cuban citizens living in the Russian Federation and outside their homeland face recruitment attempts. Criminal cases have been initiated against representatives of this network.
“The enemies of Cuba are spreading distorted information designed to tarnish the image of the country and present it as an accomplice in these actions, which we strongly reject,” the statement said.
Cuba opposes mercenarism and does not take part in the conflict in Ukraine, the Foreign Ministry stressed.
