Literary critic Andrei Nemzer died at the age of 66. Literary critic Oleg Lekmanov was one of the first to report this on Facebook (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist and banned). Causes of death and other details were not provided.
Andrey Nemzer graduated from the Faculty of Philology of Moscow State University. He worked as the head of the criticism department of the Literary Review magazine (1983–1990), and as a columnist at Nezavisimaya Gazeta and the Segodnya newspaper (1994–1996).
He has more than 1 thousand publications. He taught at the Russian Theater Academy (1999–2002). Since 2002, he has been a teacher at the Higher School of Economics at the Department of Literature, Department of Business and Political Journalism. He is a laureate of the government award in the field of culture (for 2015).
