Making crafts from natural and other improvised materials by children in schools and kindergartens (with the help of moms and dads) has always been a common thing. However, now a new trend has appeared: not to make, but to buy ready-made crafts on ad sites, passing off as your own. Many parents are not up to it now, people now have other worries. However, psychologists say that today is just the time when joint needlework is like a balm for an anxious psyche, and they explained how to turn the usual activities with children into psychotherapy sessions.

As it became known to MK, a lot of offers for the sale of crafts for kindergartens and schools appeared on ad sites. Such ads are placed by needleworkers from Tatarstan, Bashkiria, the Moscow region, Moscow … Prices range from 200 to 2000 rubles, and, as sellers say, ready-made souvenirs from cones and acorns fly apart. Moms and dads who use this service justify themselves: they say, we don’t want the child with his work to look worse than others, and we don’t have time to help him.

“I saw such announcements, but I don’t welcome them, I think that the child should do it himself,” Elena, the mother of three children, shared with MK. – Moreover, why teach from childhood to deceit?

Although, on the other hand, deceit is already there from the very beginning. It’s no secret that competitions of children’s work in kindergartens and schools are almost always a competition of parental “crazy hands”. “I find instructions on the Internet, I stock up on materials, we have a box in the house with cones, dried plants and other things,” says one of the caring mothers. “In our group, all the mothers make crafts for the children themselves, the teachers, looking at the results, of course, understand everything.”

– You can help the child if he asks, but do not do it instead of him, – expresses his opinion father from Moscow. – Many parents are like snowplows that sweep away all obstacles in the way of the child. And then they wonder why modern young people are so lack of initiative and lack of independence.

But there are other reasons why this activity should not be abandoned right now, in troubled times.

“Life goes on anyway, and children, more than ever, need the attention of their parents,” explains psychologist Svetlana Pleshakova. – If parents can somehow cope with stress – the older we get, the more strategies we develop to cope with some events, then the children do not understand what is happening, while they feel a general negative emotional background. And therefore, the warmth from the presence of parents involved in some of their affairs is very important for them.

The psychologist explains that when parents put aside their affairs and join the child’s activity, they also turn to their “inner child”, which is in all of us. They return to their pleasant childhood memories, it calms and distracts from disturbing thoughts.

– At the moment when you are sculpting, drawing with a child, making something, you need to be guided by such a psychological concept as “here and now.” I will just calmly do something with my child at this moment. In our childhood memories, in that part of us that can be called children, there are also resources for stabilization and stability. All emotions, all unconscious, emotional, fun – are located there.

We must not run away from this heavy background, mask it, but we must express it through creativity. You can, for example, mold something unpleasant out of plasticine, and then break it.

It is very important not to shrug off the child, not to go into your own worries, but just to work on connecting in the family, on strengthening ties between generations. After all, this is the real thing that is remembered later, over the years. We are not the first generation to experience such dramatic periods. And such joint family affairs, even small ones, these warm hugs are the resource thanks to which we are alive, and this has been tested for centuries.
