Basmanny Court of Moscow arrests Ukrainian TV presenter Maria Efrosinina in absentia
In Moscow, the Basmanny Court arrested Ukrainian TV presenter Maria Yefrosinina in absentia in a case of spreading false information about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces, the court said.
The court granted the investigator’s petition and chose a measure of restraint in relation to the Ukrainian TV presenter in the form of arrest in absentia for a period of two months from the moment of Efrosinina’s detention or extradition to Russia.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs put her on the international wanted list, and Rosfinmonitoring added her to the list of terrorists and extremists. The reason for the criminal case against the TV presenter was her publications on Instagram (banned in the Russian Federation; owned by the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation).
Efrosinina was born in Kerch. She worked in Kyiv on Ukrainian television. In Russia, she collaborated with the Muz-TV and NTV television companies.
