Russian cosmonauts Sergei Prokopyev and Dmitry Petelin completed their spacewalk on the evening of June 22 and returned to the International Space Station (ISC). They spent overboard after almost seven, reported “Roskosmos”.
The exit began at 17:24 on Thursday. The astronauts closed the hatch of the Poisk module at 23:48 on the same day. As a result, they spent 6 hours 24 minutes overboard the ISS. It was originally planned that their exit would take 6 hours and 51 minutes. Their main task was to install on the Zvezda module the equipment for a high-speed radio-technical system for transmitting information to the Earth RSPI-M. To do this, the cosmonauts dismantled the Seismoprognoz scientific equipment, the equipment of the old information transmission system and the transceiver. They also installed and connected new equipment, took a photo of the outer surface of the Zvezda, cleaned the outer surface of the window glazing; and dismantled the container of Bioisk-MSN equipment.
For the second time in a row, gentlemen Prokopiev and Petelin complete their spacewalk faster than planned. Last time, on May 13, they spent 5 hours and 14 minutes outside the ISS instead of the planned 6 hours and 18 minutes. In April they stayed in open space almost 8 hours.
