Postgraduate student of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University Azat Miftakhov, who was sentenced to 6 years in a penal colony for setting fire to the office of the United Russia party, was included in the register of extremists and terrorists in the Russian Federation. This is evidenced by the data site Rosfinmonitoring.
Earlier it was reported that employees of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation conducted an inspection against Miftakhov for his involvement in the Moscow cell of the Network community (recognized as terrorist and prohibited on the territory of the Russian Federation).
The mathematician was detained at the beginning of February 2019 in Balashikha, and in 2021 the Golovinsky District Court sentenced him to 6 years in a penal colony for attacking the United Russia office.
