In five districts of the capital – Lefortovo, Moskvorechye-Saburovo, Nagatinsky Zaton, Savelovsky and Otradnoye, healthy food supermarkets now have containers for collecting blisters from pills and expired medical capsules.
The eco-action is aimed at drawing people’s attention to the issues of competent disposal of medicines, as well as helping residents of the capital to understand the choice of medicines and get rid of expired pills in an environmentally friendly way.
According to the representative of the pharmaceutical company Irina Nikulina, 28 percent of Russians who are interested in healthy food are beginning to be interested in natural and environmentally friendly medicines.
“People understand that it is necessary to carefully approach the choice of medicines, not buying them “just in case”. Our surveys show that almost 80 percent of the medicines that citizens buy are never used,” says Irina Nikulina. – Of course, it is best to choose any medication after consulting a doctor. But even for such cases when a headache or a runny nose has appeared, it is better to choose the safest possible treatment.
All collected medicines and pill blisters will be transferred to the National Ecological Company. There they will sort them and determine what can be recycled and what can not.
