Concerts of Valery Meladze canceled in three cities of Siberia

The performances of the Russian performer Valery Meladze, which were supposed to take place on April 26, 27 and 29, 2023 in Novosibirsk, Kemerovo and Barnaul, have been cancelled. Information about the cancellation of the concerts of the Kommersant-Siberia singer was confirmed on the hotline of the Kassy.ru portal.
The reason for the suspension of ticket sales is unknown, at the same time, ticket buyers are advised to contact the office for a refund. It was not possible to get through to representatives of the musician.
According to Afisha.ru, the only concerts that the singer will hold in the near future will be held on May 18 and 21 in Almaty and Astana.
In January 2023, it became known about the cancellation of Valery Meladze’s concert in the Krasnoyarsk multifunctional complex “Grand Hall Siberia”, where the singer’s performance was scheduled. At the same time, his performance in Irkutsk at the Trud Sports Palace was canceled.
Earlier, several Telegram channels distributed a video from Valery Meladze’s New Year’s concert in Dubai. On it, the author of the video says to the singer: “Glory to Ukraine”, after which he removes the microphone and answers something. The author calls him “handsome” in response. The singer’s phrase was not captured on video. In social networks, it was suggested that Mr. Meladze said: “Glory to the heroes.”
Commenting on the video, the singer stated that he does not want to hate anyone and does not try to please anyone. “I only dream of antagonism ending and harmony established between close peoples. And for this I am ready to give all my strength,” added Mr. Meladze.
After the video was published, Federation Council member Elena Afanasyeva proposed to deprive Valery Meladze of Russian citizenship, and State Duma deputy Andrei Lugovoi turned to Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov with a request to give a legitimate assessment to the singer’s actions.
