What’s happening on Red Square

For several hours now, a concert has been going on on the country’s Red Square in honor of the annexation of new territories to Russia. The fenced perimeter from the Historical Museum to St. Basil’s Cathedral is completely filled with people, a lot of Russian tricolors are visible.

The main stage is crowned with huge inscriptions “Russia”, “Donbass – Novorossiya”. Nearby are the slogans “One country. One family. One Russia.”

“Let’s shout a little, make some noise,” the presenters suggested at the very beginning, recalling the reason for the concert:

– The day of September 30, 2022 has already gone down in history. Exactly a year ago, Vladimir Putin signed documents on the reunification of primordially Russian lands with the Russian Federation. Every day we have seen how residents of new regions thank their Motherland for care and support, thank the president and the Russian army for their protection.

The first part of the concert was performed by folk singer Elizaveta Dolzhenkova and actor Artem Shalimov.

The concert, according to them, was opened by artists who were in Donbass and “saw everything with their own eyes.” The group “The Day After Tomorrow” was the first to perform with the song “We Don’t Abandon Our Own” about “threats to the Russian world” and the salvation of Lugansk and Donetsk. In essence, this composition is a recitative rehash of the Soviet anthem to the world “Let there always be sunshine,” but adjusted to new political realities.

The next track was also shockingly patriotic – “about the most powerful army in the world.”

– “Moscow is behind us, Donbass and our native places are behind us,” “Our army of the strong, our army of the brave, we are for a just cause,” sounds from the stage.

The second part of the concert promises to be more stellar – the audience is promised performances by LYUBE, Polina Gagarina, Leps, Valeria, Agutin, Nikolai Baskov, Alexander Rosenbaum and many others.
