Completed overhaul of the “house-castle” on Maroseyka

The overhaul started in the spring of 2022 with the replacement of engineering systems, and with the onset of warm weather, the specialists of the Capital Repair Fund began to repair the facade and roof.

“Special attention of the Capital Repair Fund of Moscow was riveted to the return of its original beauty to house 13, building 2 on Maroseyka. This is an amazing house, which is distinguished by incredible grace. We have created a unique project for the work, taking into account all the nuances of the old building. We have selected materials and technologies that are most suitable for its renewal. I would like to note that our choice is always high-quality, exclusively domestic materials,” said Vladimir Kozhichenkov, Deputy General Director of the Capital Repair Fund of Moscow.

For the convenience of residents, the work on updating the facade was divided into several stages. First, the old plaster and paint layer was removed, modern anti-fungal and anti-corrosion protection was applied to the walls. Such processing can significantly extend the service life of materials. Where necessary, local replacement of bricks and repair of brickwork were carried out.

“The main facade with a passage arch is decorated with panels, sandriks, interfloor belts, platbands and pilasters with capitals. The entrance groups are located in two symmetrical risalits, which are decorated with high stained-glass windows in several spans and end with elongated hip roofs. On the right side of the façade there is another passage arch decorated with decorative elements. There is a crowning cornice along the perimeter of the building,” the mos.ru portal informs.

The specialists had to put in order all these architectural elements.

The final stage of the work was the renewal of the plaster layer, a modern acrylic-based paint was applied on top. Modern material is resistant to changing weather conditions.

The renovation of the façade included the renovation of the basement of the house, slopes and porches. As part of a comprehensive overhaul in the “castle house”, drainpipes and ebbs were replaced.

When repairing the roof, specialists had to replace the crate, roofing and part of the rafters, which were severely damaged. All wooden elements were treated with a fire-retardant compound. Mineral wool boards were used as an attic insulation.
