Competitions for the 81st anniversary of the victory at Stalingrad will be held in Volgograd

Sports competitions will be held on the eve of the 81st anniversary of the defeat of fascist troops at Stalingrad.
According to the Volgograd mayor’s office, the largest sporting event will be an athletics race. It will be held in Volgograd for the 77th time. Anyone of any age can take part in the competition – from schoolchildren to sports veterans. Participants will have to cover a distance of 2, 5, 10, 20 km from the BK-31 armored boat to the Volgograd Arena.
Those interested must obtain a medical permit in advance and also submit an application on January 29–30 between 14.00 and 17.00 in the VSAFC building. The race is scheduled for February 1st.
In addition, on February 1 and 2, sports school No. 1 will host the Volgograd artistic gymnastics championship. 200 children and adolescents aged 8 to 18 years will participate in them.
On February 3 and 4, the Zenit sports complex will host competitions for the City Cup in taekwondo called “The Battle of Stalingrad.” On February 16, young judokas will meet at the All-Russian Physical Culture and Sports Society “Dynamo”.
From February 8 to 11, an open volleyball championship will be held in the secondary school of the hero city with the participation of young men born in 2012–2013.
