Elena Chaikovskaya, coach of the Russian figure skating team, whose school belongs to Alena Kostornaya, is extremely surprised by the attention the media is giving her after the scandal with the refereeing at the Russian Grand Prix stage in Omsk. According to Tchaikovskaya, there is nothing to talk about in the context of Kostornaya’s performance yet, but perhaps it’s worth looking at her in a couple of years, because Kostornaya only recently switched from singles to pairs skating. The coach sincerely does not understand why Kostornaya’s emotional reaction to refereeing is given so much attention, as if she were an Olympic champion. Tchaikovskaya emphasized that she was simply “stunned” by this.
