President Vladimir Putin signed decree about state awards. Elena Vyalbe, head coach of the Russian national cross-country skiing team, was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree.

Elena Vyalbe is President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (since 2010), head of the Russian Ski Association (since 2020). Three-time Olympic champion, four-time bronze medalist of the Games. She has more than 14 gold and 3 silver medals at the world championships.

In addition, Petr Serkov, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court of Russia, was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, IV degree. State awards were conferred on four diplomats: Ambassador to the Republic of Senegal and the Republic of the Gambia Dmitry Kurakov (Order of Friendship), Deputy Director of the Fourth European Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Oleg Bredikhin, Counsellor-Envoy of the Russian Embassy in Poland Andrey Ordash (Medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree) and Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Vladimir Churov (“For Impeccable Service”). The Order of Friendship was also received by the head of Tuva, Vladislav Khovalyga.
