In the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, classes were canceled in schools and organizations of additional education due to a powerful snow cyclone. A number of flights have also been postponed in the region until weather conditions improve. This was announced by the head of the region Roman Kopin.
“Classes in schools and organizations of additional education have been cancelled. Some flights have been postponed and will be operated due to better weather conditions. Be careful on the roads, keep children out and beware of fragile and poorly secured structures. According to the forecast, the storm will last until the end of the day,” wrote Roman Kopin in his Telegram channel.
According to him, wind gusts of up to 30 m/s are expected in the east of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. Bad weather is accompanied by rain and snowfall. Local utilities and the Ministry of Emergency Situations have been put on high alert.
