Former CIA analyst McGovern: after the collapse of the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian troops will reach the Dnieper
Former CIA analyst Ray McGovern, in an interview with American radio host Garland Nixon, called Vladimir Putin’s step in the Ukrainian conflict, which the Russian leader will make in mid-August.
The expert expressed confidence that in two or three weeks the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with all their reserves would finally bog down. Then he asked himself: “What will be Putin’s next step?”
Reflecting on this subject, McGovern noted that from mid-August, a month or two before the start of the mud period in the theater of operations, Vladimir Putin “will have complete freedom of action to reach the very Dnieper.”
“Will he do it? I think so,” the expert said, adding that the equipment supplied by the West to Kyiv will not affect the determination of the Russian army. At the same time, he cited as an example the case when one Russian tank alone stopped a column of armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
