Shoigu announced the adoption of measures to increase the protection of civilian infrastructure

The Russian military has significantly increased the intensity of attacks on Ukrainian military facilities, which are involved in the strikes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of Russia. This was stated by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu at a thematic conference call with the leadership of the Russian Armed Forces.

“Given the current situation, additional measures have been taken to increase protection against attacks from air and sea. The intensity of attacks on Ukrainian military facilities, including those supporting these terrorist attacks, has been increased several times,” he said (quote according to TASS).

According to Shoigu, against the backdrop of an unsuccessful counter-offensive, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have focused on terrorist attacks on Russian civilian infrastructure.

On the night of July 17, Ukraine attacked the Crimean bridge from the sea with the help of surface drones. As a result of the incident, a married couple died, their minor daughter was injured. The Investigative Committee of Russia initiated a case on the fact of the attack about a terrorist attack, which, according to the agency, was being prepared on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services.

In response, the Russian military carried out several “retaliation strikes” against Ukrainian military installations between July 18 and 21.
