Chinese authorities have reduced the period of quarantine for those arriving in the country

The Chinese authorities have decided to reduce the period of mandatory centralized quarantine for those entering from abroad – from 7 to 5 days. Those arriving will have to spend 3 more days in self-isolation at home. This statement was made by the State Committee for Health of the People’s Republic of China.
The agency has issued a notice to further improve COVID-19 prevention and control measures. The new document contains quite significant changes in the direction of weakening the strict policy of curbing the spread of coronavirus infection.
The notification contains 20 measures to optimize the anti-epidemiological policy. It was published following a meeting of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China headed by Xi Jinping, where a report on the prevention and control of COVID-19 was heard.
Persons entering from abroad will still be required to undergo mandatory PCR testing during centralized quarantine, as well as on the first and third (last) day of home isolation.
