China’s solar observatory launched into orbit

The Chinese Advanced Space-Based Solar Observatory (ASO-S), designed to observe the Sun, has been successfully launched into an orbit at a height of 720 km, TASS reports citing the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC).
The observatory weighing 888 kg will allow studying the Sun, as well as timely warning of energy emissions that may affect the operation of equipment on Earth.
The planned operating time of the observatory is at least 4 years. Every day it will transmit to Earth about 500 gigabytes of various information. Reportedly, China will allow experts around the world to use this information.
