China will strive for international space cooperation in lunar exploration even after the crash of the Russian automatic station Luna-25. This was stated by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Wang Wenbin.
“China will promote broad cooperation on the creation of the International Scientific Lunar Station,” he said at a briefing in response to a question about whether China will continue to seek partnership with Russia in the space sector after the incident with the Russian Luna-25 station.
The Russian automatic interplanetary station “Luna-25” crashed on August 20: it went into an off-design orbit, colliding with the surface of the moon. Earlier today agency Bloomberg reported that the unsuccessful launch of the station could undermine cooperation between Russia and China in the field of space.
On August 9, NASA chief Bill Nelson said that only the United States and China are currently participating in the space race. In his opinion, Russia will not be able to land cosmonauts on the moon in the near future, therefore, it does not participate in the modern space race.
