China presented its proposals to resolve the conflict in Ukraine

Information about China’s peace plan for Ukraine appeared in the media earlier this week. As noted by Bloomberg, Beijing originally planned to also include a call for the completion of arms supplies to Ukraine.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that Wang Yi shared the peace plan with him during a meeting on the sidelines of the Munich Conference. According to him, Kyiv intends to study this plan. Prior to this, Kuleba admitted that China could become a possible mediator in the negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow.
On February 22, Wang Yi, Head of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee, met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. Later, he also met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. As the Russian Foreign Ministry later reported, the “Chinese peace plan” for a settlement in Ukraine at these talks not discussed.
Lavrov during the talks noted that Moscow welcomes Beijing’s constructive role in resolving acute international issues, as well as the similarity of the parties’ views on the causes of the Ukrainian crisis. At the same time, Russia is committed to the principle of the indivisibility of security, according to which the security of one country cannot be strengthened at the expense of the security of another. Putin, in turn, asked Wang Yi to convey his best wishes to Chinese President Xi Jinping, whom the Russian leader called a friend. He also added that Moscow is waiting for the Chinese leader to visit.
