Children volleyball players from the Khabarovsk Territory became the best in the Far East championship

The Far East volleyball championship in the age group up to 14 years was held in the Khabarovsk Territory. Young athletes of the region became the best according to the results of the competition. As reported in press service of the regional government, the event took place at the Universal Regional Sports Complex. 29 teams of boys and girls from Chita to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk competed for medals. The matches took place simultaneously on three venues.
For the first time in recent years, the number of girls’ participants was the maximum – 19 teams. The organizers expressed the hope that they will continue to build a sports career and perhaps join the ranks of the professional team “Amur Tigresses”.
In the Khabarovsk Territory, volleyball is one of the most popular sports. About 15 thousand people are passionate about it. In 2007, Khabarovsk became the center of world women’s volleyball. For the first time in Russia, the regional capital hosted the stage of the World Grand Prix, and in 2009, the stage of the World Volleyball League among men’s teams.
