Season is open! Muscovites again got the opportunity to admire the flowering of Japanese sakura in their hometown.
The first sakura to bloom in Moscow was in the Botanical Garden of Moscow State University on Prospekt Mira.
“We are talking about the Sargent cherry, or Sakhalin cherry, near the subtropical greenhouse next to the small bird cherry,” the press service of the Aptekarsky Ogorod said in a statement.
Other types of sakura growing in this garden will soon bloom.
Cherry blossoms were also covered in a pink flower cloud in the Japanese Garden of the Tsitsin Main Botanical Garden of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Until May 10, the Japanese Garden will work every day, and after May 11, it will be closed on Mondays for a sanitary day. This was reported on the page of the institution in VKontakte.
In addition, Muscovites and guests of the capital can see cherry blossoms in the Biryulevsky Arboretum, Ekaterininsky Park and on the alley near the main building of Moscow State University.
