At the stadium “Central” work continues on modernization. Maxim Kleshchevnikov, head of the department of physical culture and sports of the Chelyabinsk administration, spoke about what has been done and plans for the future at a press conference of the Granada Press media holding.
He recalled that the reconstruction of the sports facility has been underway since 2019. Since then, contractors have landscaped the surrounding area, replaced the football pitch with a heating system, and raised the facades of the facility.
The plans are to upgrade the stadium to the second category. To do this, it is necessary to improve lighting, create an infrastructure for spectators (design the space under the stands) and strengthen the facade.
– They have not been dealt with for a decade, and all load-bearing structures require attention, – the speaker says.
They will also improve the sector for fans, equip emergency exits, and modernize the lighting system.
– With such attention of the regional and city authorities to football, we will put the object in order, it will no longer be called “unfinished coliseum”, – says Maxim Kleshchevnikov.
