The defender of the English football club Chelsea Thiago Silva said that he considers the six months spent in Russia to be the worst period in his life. The impression was spoiled by sudden health problems, the official website of the club quotes him as saying.
The Brazilian moved on loan from Porto to Dynamo Moscow in 2005. However, he never played a single match.
“I spent six months in Russia. It was one of the worst periods in my life. I didn’t know if I would ever be able to play football again. I was given several tests, and it was confirmed that I had tuberculosis in an advanced form, ”the athlete shared.
Silva stayed in the clinic for treatment. According to him, Russian doctors wanted to operate on his lung, but after such an intervention, he would no longer be able to play football. Silva refused, and later returned to Portugal, where he managed to recover and continue his career.
He is now 38 years old and has been playing for Chelsea since 2020.
