Folk singer Prokhor Chaliapin announced the cancellation of his concerts on May holidays.
– I was supposed to have three concerts in St. Petersburg, – Prokhor Chaliapin explained in an interview with MK. – On the eve of May 9, everything was canceled due to terrorist threats. This decision was made by the security forces for security reasons.
They know better, we do not argue with them, but there will be no concerts of mine. I don’t perform in Moscow on May 9 either. I just went to a dacha in the Pushkinsky district, walked around St. Petersburg, froze and returned. Weeding beds is, of course, not my destiny.
The people’s performer added that the cancellation of performances by artists affected many city venues.
– In St. Petersburg, there will be no wide festivities, to which we are accustomed to on May 9, for security reasons, the ban is not specifically related to me. Events have been canceled across the city.
The singer regrets that the cancellation of festive performances violated the tradition of celebrating May 9 grandiosely.
– This is the main holiday of our country. A tribute to remember, not to forget. But, of course, safety is paramount. I don’t think this decision was taken lightly. So there are reasons. It is very pleasant that now our services are working ahead of the curve, and not at raking, – said Chaliapin.
