“Chaika” lost to “Polar Bears” in a shootout

Hockey players of the Nizhny Novgorod “Chaika” continue to play in the regular championship of the MHL season 2023-2024. The team from Nizhny Novgorod is the current holder of the Kharlamov Cup and plays well in the Golden Division of the Eastern Conference, maintaining a high level of results from the previous season. At the moment, the Nizhny Novgorod “Chaika” ranks 4th in the “Golden” division standings, having scored 57 points based on the results of 42 matches. Only rivals from Chelyabinsk, Khanty-Mansiysk and Omsk perform better than Alexey Isakov’s team.
The first match against the Polar Bears turned out to be very stubborn and interesting. The teams were on equal terms for almost the entire game and a few minutes before the siren, Chaika was leading with a score of 3:2, but the Polar Bears showed character and scored the saving goal, sending the game into overtime. The extra time did not bring any goals, and in the post-match shootout the Polar Bears were stronger, converting two of their attempts.
On February 6, the return match of the regular season will take place between Chaika and Polar Bears. The meeting is scheduled to start at 18:00 Moscow time.
