Hockey players of the Nizhny Novgorod “Chaika” continue to play in the regular championship of the MHL season 2023-2024. The team from Nizhny Novgorod is the current holder of the Kharlamov Cup and feels great in the standings of the “Golden” division, settling in its first half. At the moment, Torpedo’s youth team ranks 4th in the Golden Division standings, having scored 60 points in 44 matches. In the second home match against the Polar Bears, the Chaika hockey players showed that they can still count on 3rd position in the Golden Division. The Nizhny Novgorod team took control of the puck from the first seconds and by the middle of the second period were leading with a score of 4:0, showing that the result of the first match was largely accidental. The guests from Chelyabinsk were able to respond only once until the end of the match and were defeated with a score of 4:1. The victory over the Polar Bears brought Chaika closer to 3rd position in Gold.
Chaika will play the next match of the MHL regular season on February 11. Alexey Isakov’s team will play in Yaroslavl against Loko-76.
