“Chaika” defeated “Omsk Hawks” in a replay match

Hockey players of the Nizhny Novgorod “Chaika” are completing the regular championship of the MHL season 2023-2024. The team from Nizhny Novgorod is the current holder of the Kharlamov Cup and feels great in the standings of the Golden Division of the Eastern Conference. Based on the results of 50 matches played in the regular season, Chaika settled in 4th place among the best teams in the Eastern Conference, gaining 66 points. Only representatives of Omsk, Chelyabinsk and Khanty-Mansiysk performed better than Alexey Isakov’s team.

In the final match of the regular season, the Nizhny Novgorod “Chaika” showed everyone that they had been written off early and would still fight to retain the Kharlamov Cup. “Omsk Hawks”, who won the first match, could not do anything against the youth team of “Torpedo”, which sent 7 goals into the hosts’ goal. At the end of the first period, “Chaika” led with a score of 3:1 and nothing foreshadowed defeat, but Alexei Isakov’s team scored 4 more goals and left no chance for the “Omsk Hawks” to take 2nd place in “Gold”.

Thus, the Nizhny Novgorod “Chaika” completed the regular championship of the MHL season 2023-2024 in 4th place in the “Golden” division of the Eastern Conference. In the first round of the Kharlamov Cup playoffs, the Nizhny Novgorod “Chaika” will meet with “Irbis” from Kazan.
