Canadian pop diva Celine Dion has been diagnosed with a rare disease. Experts in neurology diagnosed the 54-year-old singer with an incurable neurological syndrome of muscle stiffness. This is reported by the British tabloid Daily Mail, citing the artist’s social networks.
According to the publication, this is why Dion canceled the European leg of her world tour, which was supposed to start in February. For the same reason, the singer previously refused the American part of the tour. But at that time, Celine Dion did not reveal to fans the reason for this decision. Now the star told everything in his social networks.
Stiffness Syndrome (previously called Stiff Man Syndrome – ed.) affects the central nervous system. The disease is extremely rare – about one in a million people. With the syndrome of muscle stiffness in a person, muscle tone increases throughout the body, which prevents him from moving, painful spasms and convulsions become more frequent. Over time, a person seems to turn into a “living statue”, unable to move normally and even speak. The disease is considered incurable, but its symptoms can be alleviated with the help of special therapy. Doctors cannot yet find out the causes of the syndrome.
