CBO participants and their children will be able to switch from paid education to free

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation approved an order, according to which the participants of the SVO and their children will be given the opportunity to switch from paid education to state-funded education in universities and colleges.

Appropriate changes are made to the procedure for the transition of persons studying in educational programs of secondary vocational and higher education from paid education to free education. It is proposed to add to this list the children of persons taking or taking part in a special military operation in the territories of Ukraine, the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.

CBO participants who do not have academic debts, two disciplinary sanctions and payment arrears can switch from paid to free education.

The order is valid until August 31, 2024.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova reported that for those participants in the SVO who study on a paid basis, already in the 2023-2024 academic year, they will be given the opportunity to switch to free education as a priority.
