The press service of Rospotrebnadzor reported that isolated cases of mycoplasma infection have been recorded in the country, reports “Interfax” The Ministry of Health noted that this infection is not new, it occurs frequently, and drugs for its treatment are available in any hospital.
The message from Rospotrebnadzor says that group cases of the disease have also been identified, including in organized groups, and they are now being actively investigated. At the same time, the report notes that there are no changes in the clinical picture of the disease.
“Mycoplasma infection of the upper and lower respiratory tract is most often caused by the microorganism Mycoplasma pneumoniae. This is not a new pathogen, and in the autumn-winter period this infection occurs quite often,” explained the chief freelance specialist of the Ministry of Health on infectious diseases, Professor Vladimir Chulanov. According to him, treatment of mycoplasma pneumonia is carried out with antibacterial drugs, which are available in any hospital.
