A captured militant of the Ukrainian nationalist battalion “Azov” (a terrorist organization banned on the territory of the Russian Federation) confessed to the Russian security forces that in March last year he killed an unarmed resident of Mariupol.
According to the fighter, on March 27, 2022, he was at an observation position in a partially burned-out and dilapidated 12-story building, which is located on the left-bank part of the city. During the testimony of the Azov at the crime scene, the house had already been demolished, and in its place was a foundation pit.
The prisoner claims that the man he killed repeatedly passed from the side of the house, which was about 200 meters from his position behind the transformer box. Azovets noted that on March 27 he came closer and observed the positions of Ukrainian nationalists. The militant admitted that when he saw this, he moved out of the window and opened fire on the man, firing three to five shots at him, after which he first fell on his side and then rolled onto his back.
