Most violators who exceeded the speed limit by 20-40 km/h
More than 100 million more traffic violations (SDA) were recorded in Russia using photo and video recording tools in 2022 compared to 2017. Such data are provided in the information and analytical review compiled at the end of the year by the Scientific Center for Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Experts analyzed the data for 6 years and found that the number of traffic violations that were recorded by cameras in 2017 amounted to 82.8 million, and in 2022 – 183.6 million, which is 120% more.
At the same time, as the researchers note, the vast majority of violations (90%) today are “notices” by technology. However, for certain species, people are still more efficient. So, they recorded 62% of vehicle exits into oncoming lanes.
In addition, it turned out that the Russians were twice as likely to exceed the speed limit (150.8 million times against 70.6 million times in 2017). Most of all violators exceeded the speed limit by 20-40 km/h, and their number is growing (95.3% in 2022 against 93.8% in 2017).
