According to information provided to TASS by the Romanian Embassy in Moscow, from March 31, unified Schengen visas will begin to be issued to citizens of the Russian Federation. These visas will allow entry into the Schengen area for 90 days within any 180-day period. Applications for Schengen visas can be submitted at all Romanian consulates in Russia, including Moscow, St. Petersburg and Rostov-on-Don.

Tourists with existing visas will only be able to use them to travel to Romania until March 31, 2024, and in accordance with EU Decision No. 565/2014. For example, holders of multiple entry visas will be able to visit Romania, Bulgaria and Cyprus. In case of travel to other Schengen countries after March 31, you must apply for a visa from the country of final destination.

According to information from the Bulgarian Embassy in Russia, after April 1, 2024, Schengen visas will begin to be issued for Russians. Applications can be submitted at the Bulgarian consular offices in Moscow and St. Petersburg. The wait in line to submit documents will be similar to other Schengen countries.
