Bryanets Ilya Borodin won the second gold of the Russian Championship

Ilya Borodin, a student of the Bryansk SShOR “Dolphin”, won two medals of the highest standard at the Russian Short Course Swimming Championship. The large-scale competition took place in St. Petersburg and became a platform for the performance of the country’s strongest swimmers, as well as representatives of the Republic of Belarus, Madagascar, Montenegro, Ghana and Nigeria.
Over the course of six days, 48 medal sets were raffled off. In serious competition, 20-year-old international class master Ilya Borodin clearly showed himself. He earned his first gold by covering the 200-meter distance in 1.53.09 seconds and setting a new Russian record.
The Bryansk resident won his second victory at a distance of 400 meters with a result of 3.59.50 seconds. It is noteworthy that success became the basis for Ilya’s inclusion in the TOP 5 of World Aquatics – the International Swimming Federation.
