In Kaluga, a boxing tournament was held on the site of the Leader physical culture and sports center. This is the fourth open city tournament dedicated to the memory of an employee of Directorate “A” of the Special Forces Center of the FSB of Russia, Senior Lieutenant Alexei Matyushin, the press service of the Kaluga City Duma reports on Monday, October 3.
“Alexey did not die then, in the Caucasus. He continues to live in the memory of his family, friends, in such tournaments as we hold today. He is our friend and comrade-in-arms in the upbringing of the youth,” Yury Moiseev, Head of the Kaluga municipal government, addressed the participants of the tournament.
Matyushin was born on December 14, 1986. He graduated from school number 8 and the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School. Since 2009, he served in Directorate “A” of the Central Security Service of the FSB of Russia. Alexey died on November 4, 2013 during the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus. A few months later, Alexei and his wife Christina had a son. By decree of the President of the Russian Federation, Senior Lieutenant Matyushin received the Order of Courage posthumously.
