Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain died on September 8 at the age of 96. Upon learning of this event, the very next day, Muscovites began to bring flowers and notes of condolence to the British Embassy. Now they can be expressed officially.
“A book of condolences will be opened at the British Embassy. Anyone wishing to express condolences and leave a message in the Book to honor the memory of the Queen will be able to visit the building of the British Embassy in Moscow from Monday 12 September to Friday 16 September from 9:30 to 15:00. It is also specified that the British Embassy in Moscow will observe national mourning until the day after the state funeral.
The funeral of Elizabeth II will take place on September 19. The Queen will be buried in the George VI Memorial Chapel, which is located on the grounds of Windsor Castle. Only heads of state and their spouses or partners are invited to the funeral. Those of the leaders who cannot personally attend the funeral will be able to send their representative to them.
