Belgorod governor to check if residents know how to get into basements in case of shelling

Governor of the Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov meeting in the regional government instructed subordinates to prepare a report on the situation with basements in apartment buildings that can be used as shelters. He promised to interview the residents and check if they know where the keys to the cellars are and how to get into these rooms in case of shelling.
“I gave instructions two months ago regarding the production of additional keys and posting information on the information boards of each entrance about which apartment the key to the basement is located in order to use the basements and other premises that are the property of apartment buildings as shelters,”— said Mr. Gladkov. He noted that the report is still missing.
In this regard, the official instructed his subordinates to prepare it in a week. “I need a code on the border areas, where we have apartment buildings, primarily the city of Belgorod. Prepare a report in a week, and I will ask the residents how much they see this information in their own country,” Vyacheslav Gladkov concluded.
In the Belgorod region since April valid increased level of terrorist threat. After that, hundreds of buildings were damaged in the region from shelling by Ukraine. Last major destruction happened from shelling in early July. Today, September 12, the authorities reported about the latest attacks.
