Three-time Olympic champion Alexander Bolshunov told the media that Sergei Ustyugov set up a collision with him in the semi-finals of the freestyle sprint at the 5th stage of the Russian Cup in Krasnogorsk. It is reported by RIA Novosti Sport.
Athletes collided on the descent. Both fell and did not reach the final.
According to Bolshunov, there were no injuries, but he lost consciousness for a while, trying to recover. Alexander claims that Ustyugov provoked the clash.
Additionally, it is reported that on Sunday at the competition, Ustyugov did not shake hands with Bolshunov and said that he behaved “inhumanly” by stepping on his skis. Earlier, at stage 4, Bolshunov cut off Ustyugov while overtaking in the sprint final, for which he apologized.
