Bolshoi Theater soloist and opera singer Tamara Milashkina died at 89
People’s Artist of the USSR, opera singer Tamara Milashkina died at the age of 90, said press attache of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater (SABT) of Russia Katerina Novikova.
“Friends of Tamara Milashkina called the Bolshoi Theater and reported that today at 06:00 Tamara Andreevna died at the age of 90,” she said.
Milashkina will be buried in Vienna at the Russian cemetery.
Tamara Milashkina was born on September 13, 1934 in Astrakhan, graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory. Tchaikovsky and began her career at the Bolshoi Theater while still a student. Since 1958, she has performed as a soloist of the Bolshoi Theater. Among the productions with her participation are “The Tale of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevronia”, “Tosca”, “Mazeppa”, “The Queen of Spades”, “Othello” and many others. She worked at the Bolshoi until 1990, after which she moved to Austria with her husband, singer Vladimir Atlantov.
